For generations, the need for space while creating a tranquil environment has been a priority in comfortable living. There have been the ever-popular hidden compartments under couches or in ottomans. But cabinetry has always been a practical and stylish item for storage and, therefore, a popularly advertised item. But in the past decade, a modern take on an old favorite has become a contemporary must-have in households nationwide; sliding door cabinets balance functional space with furnished beauty.
Sliding door cabinets may come in many different shapes and styles depending on the need and color palate. Cabinets are usually rectangular shaped for better utilitarian function. The variety of cabinetry available may be used for living rooms, offices, bathrooms, kitchens and other designated rooms. Contemporary styles for this particular type of cabinetry is extremely straight lines with no embellishments and comes in neutral tones of black, brown, white and gray and is often featured as a varnished or painted wood look. On occasion, the sliding doors are made of opaque or clear glass. However, while glass forms of cabinetry usually are aligned bathroom or kitchen walls, the neutral wood paneling is often used for living rooms and office spaces to give the illusion of a paneled wall instead of cluttered storage.
The use of this particular type of cabinet also depends on its base. Face frame and faceless frames, though they look similar in construct, are utilized differently. Face frame cabinetry is sturdier and holds particular strength in the front due to the interconnecting sections with woodworking joints. Faceless frames are often plywood and have less steady of surface tension than a heavier material like wood. When ordered from a custom wood cabinet manufacturer, they are sturdy and enhance the room. Though both styles can hold sliding doors, the face frame might be developed to hold heavier items such as electronics and heavy cutlery for kitchens. Face frames are similar to other styles of frame and are also popular for sliding door cabinets and bathroom wall cabinets.
Although storage, style, base and color are all tremendously valuable when looking for sliding door cabinets, the most crucial part of choosing what is right for the space is the size. The size can be chosen and ordered from a custom wood cabinet manufacturer. Deciding on the right model not only depends on the room, but the space. Although these cabinets can hold anything the owner wishes, whether it is a video game console, clothes or bathroom toiletries, it is best to decide on the right fit for the selected space. Once a customer chooses the right size, secondary options of style and color help the customer choose the ideal piece of cabinetry for custom-built cabinetry. Continue reading
